Full Steam ahead, Doctor Who movie is coming in to land

David Yates confirmed to direct the movie

3 movies have come before. 2 with Peter Cushing and the 3rd with Paul McGann. A 4th is on it's way. But, dear Tennant and Smith fangirls/fanboys, neither may actually do the movie. It has been said that that the movie will be independent of both RTD and Moffat’s Doctor Who takes, with David Yates saying both did versions that were “fantastic”, but that “we have to put that aside and start from scratch”.

Yates also stated that: “We’re looking at writers now. We’re going to take two to three years to get it right. It needs quite a radical transformation to take it into the bigger arena”.
